The Hamms League: Men’s “A” Level Overview of Players Skills

At this level skaters and goalies played hockey from youth on up. They have been coached in detail most of their life, had access to early hockey coaching, and have participated at minimum a HS level and likely into college but not always.  Some may have developed in hockey later in life. Their hockey skills and understanding of the game are developed and feel confident jumping into a faster paced skilled game. Below features of skaters and goalies that may sign up for this “A/Upper B” level hockey with this league.

Adult Play Experience

  • Played HS, Junior, Club, D3 or D1
  • Similar to AHA  “A”/”B1”
  •  Hockey Finder 4.0+

These hockey players have good knowledge of the game, and experience participating in hockey leagues or tournaments, enabling them to play at a competitive level and make adjustments as needed during game play.  Skills can generally occur at a faster pace.

Hockey Smarts/Team play

Players are confident of positioning, hockey rules, and team play. Have good skating and puck handling skills. They make and catch passes, shots are on goal, and they make smart, heads-up play to contribute to team success.  Play and decisions generally occur at a faster pace.

This would be a good level for ex HS players that played at a competitive level and ex or maybe current D3-D1 players depending on the season.
